whose eyes will take my place
to watch sun marry flowers
if mine close mistily
under a peppered moon?
who will inhale the perfume of ice
when my breath is carried away
by the waiting arms
of the restless wind?
whose hands will touch the glow
of an afternoon rainbow
when mine go limp
falling useless to the side?
who will hear autumn
whisper softly to the goose...
who will wear the breath
of a monarch butterfly?
whose lips will sip
the brightness of stars,
the deep blue of the living ocean,
if mine wither and sigh no more?
...will it be you?

Lovely poem, Janice....I love it that you make the world look beautiful,
More often i look at the world around me and wonder... what it would have meant to leave a little child behind me, in my absence...it often terrifies me....it is a different matter that when you turn to Nature we see beauty, everywhere,

Stunning...but there is only ONE You ....
Beautiful words from a truly beautiful person!
Love this, Janice and as Lorraine said, "There is only ONE You."

Sad to think of the leaving, but happy to know there will be a someone to see the same world.
nice
Ahhh... the eternal question. Beautiful imagery!
We wil keep on keeping on.
You make me sad------so don't go----yet!! MB
Devika- beauty is in the eye of the beholder. One must always remember the good and bad are wrapped together - where there is one there is also the other.. Thanks always for your visits and often deep thoughts.
Lorraine - but there is only ONE You as well..thank you for your kindness.
Margie - hi there - it's always so good to see you! Thanks muchly.
Goatman - yes and I thank you.
Ruth - so very good to see you. I would be a fool to think none other sees what I see too. :) Thank you always - I so enjoy your visits.
Mary Beth - love your avatar! I will fight till the end but with grace, wisdom and acceptance.(well...one can only hope that) :) Thank you.
Yeah, agree on the good and bad wrapped together part, Janice....And it is where we know we ourselves are one such package...the relevance and the challenge comes in, i guess,

The end is THE BIG QUESTION...and I'm always rebelling...uselessly, of course....at non-existence! It remains the most terrible thing for a human being, no matter if you had a good life or a bad one, if you knew happiness or had never met joy....
"
who will inhale the perfume of ice
when my breath is carried away
by the waiting arms
of the restless wind?"
your words paint pictues...
Ah Gabriela there is NEVER non-existence - only a different state of mind :) By clinging to this life we give up the treasures of the next...thank you always for your words that make me delve deep to answer - ah...but it is just an opinion...no?
Sandy - again I thank you for your words and visits. Feel free to express disagreement as well for it teaches me how to improve my poetry.
