When you reach out to touch me
the stars must softly smile
as those long forgotten memories
gently thread their way into our hearts.
How sweet this feeling,
one soul touching the other,
so intense at times
I needs must turn away...
not out of fear but because the caring
is such that I have never known
and surely the tears would start to fall.
Though most are shy to say "I need you"
my heart begs to know you more,
to throw aside the heavy curtain
that covers the oneness door.
So cleave me tightly to your breast
while the stars knowingly smile
as you offer to me your deepest self
when you reach out to touch me.
the stars must softly smile
as those long forgotten memories
gently thread their way into our hearts.
How sweet this feeling,

I myself was smiling reading this, thinking it to be romance of two opposite souls, until i stumbled upon "breast" - beautiful soulsmates, and beautiful poetry Janice :)

you take my breath away...and I miss the hurt, i don't remember the exquisite pain, of truly loving...I wonder which is worse

Same in, same out - from the stars far away to the deepest inside. I love the atmosphere in this, the sound of words and letters.
Just one thing makes me think a lot, 'cause I can't find the key: in "I needs must turn away..." is "needs" so surprising. It sounds like forgotten after correction. Any help?
Best wishes
Ralf
Devika - it is a romance - breast was more pleasant sounding than chest :)
Lorraine - either way it is deeply felt n'est ce pas?
Ralf - I had to look this up again myself to make sure. It means no other way is possible - it's not a common phrase so it's understandable that it seems confusing.
Thank you all.
Your words touched my heart so very deeply!
So love this, Janice!
It's truly beautiful!
Margie :)
Thank you Margie as always. My apologies for not seeing this sooner!
